A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a teenager was stabbed in Birmingham city centre .

The victim, 17, was allegedly knifed outside the city's flagship Primark store in Birmingham High Street shortly after 6pm on Sunday, October 12.

A huge police cordon was in place overnight and shops such as Greggs, Pandora and Deichmann, as well as Metro Bank and Barclays, were closed for hours.

Forensic investigators in white overalls were seen checking inside bins. Shoppers were told, at the time, to avoid the area.

West Midlands Police has now confirmed to BirminghamLive that a 16-year-old boy was arrested following the attack.
