BOARDMAN A Boardman Township police cruiser was involved in an accident late Wednesday at the intersection of South Avenue and Mathews Road, resulting in minor injuries, authorities confirmed.

The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. The cruiser was reportedly responding to a request for backup from another unit when the collision took place.

Police officials at the scene said they do not yet know the exact cause or circumstances of the accident, and an investigation is underway.
