MCAS Controversy Playing Out Here And At State Level

Should the Commonwealth of Massachusetts do away with the Massachusetts Comprehensive Evaluating System (MCAS) and replace it with other types of assessment testing? That is one of six resolutions the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) was scheduled to vote on this week in Worcester. It is also the most controversial. The vote is not binding, but will be presented to the state legislature and the department of education.
