WOODBURN, Oregon — Community members in Woodburn responded with renewed fear and uncertainty after federal agents detained at least 30 people Thursday, according to PCUN, Oregon's farmworker union.

"PCUN condemns ICE and their racist, violent and arbitrary enforcement in our neighborhoods," PCUN shared in a statement. "From what we understand right now, our partners are working to support our community members."

Several cellphone videos shared widely on social media showed federal agents detaining people in Woodburn neighborhoods around 6 a.m. Word of the detentions spread to teachers in the community who took extra care to support students.

"We are a broken community tonight," said Max Sanchez, a Woodburn High School teacher. "This has really impacted us a lot."
