At 5:01 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released a coastal flood statement in effect until 8 p.m. for the Bronx and Suffolk County.

The weather service states, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."
