A BBC studio audience burst into applause as they learnt the breaking news of Prince Andrew being stripped of his royal title.
Buckingham Palace's bombshell statement dropped while BBC current affairs program Question Time, hosted by Fiona Bruce, was airing live.
Ms Bruce interrupted the panel to announce the news on air, resulting in a dramatic response from the audience.
"We have a breaking story which we should respond to - that’s why I stopped you there, forgive me," she told a guest.
"Prince Andrew," the host began as groans immediately sounded out from the audience.
"The King has initiated a process...Prince Andrew will no longer be Prince Andrew," Ms Bruce announced.
Spontaneous applause erupted in the audience before the host continued: "He will be Andrew Mountbatten Windsor,
