Severe and nasty thunderstorms are forecast to lash NSW and Queensland with destructive winds and heavy downpours as a powerful system sweeps across the east coast.
The storm system is expected to peak on Saturday with destructive winds, torrential rain, and lightning strikes predicted to cause widespread disruption across both states.
Sky News senior weather meteorologist Rob Sharpe said the conditions are “looking just as bad as yesterday with destructive winds and big impacts as the atmosphere is extremely unstable.”
“The winds will start in NSW before they head to Queensland and this will be extremely dangerous storms that we haven’t seen in years and it’s one to be careful from,” he said.
