VANDERBURGH CO., Ind. (WFIE) - A motorcycle driver is accused of being high at the time of a crash.
Vanderburgh County Deputies say it happened Thursday night at Heckel and Shoreham Drive.
When they arrived, they say 27-year-old Carlos Johnson was putting his clearly crashed motorcycle inside a garage.
A deputy says when he first encountered Johnson, he looked at him and said, “I wasn’t doing a wheelie.”
He says he later told him he was doing wheelies down the road before the crash.
The deputy says Johnson had bloodshot eyes and slowed reactions.
When asked if he had anything to drink or smoke, deputies say Johnson told them he smoked a joint a few hours prior.
They say he failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the hospital for a chemical test.
