EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - While the end of October was expected to be when Riverside Drive would reopen, city officials now expect an opening within a few weeks.
Officials blame the rain for slowing them down.
Leaders say many people have asked them if Riverside is about to open.
They say the short answer is: Yes. Soon.
“There is always some level of unpredictability in construction - the rain this week, for example, slowed work a bit. But EWSU anticipates having one lane in each direction open for traffic within the next two weeks,” said Evansville officials.
As we reported, a sinkhole formed in February at Chestnut Street.
Eventually, all lanes of Riverside Drive were closed in April.
