CLEVELAND, Ohio — Too few voters in Cuyahoga County care about judicial races. So, they’ll head to the polls Tuesday without a sense of who might be the best person to sit on the bench, but then, if confronted with a legal problem, they’ll grumble about how unjust a judge is.

They can’t have it both ways.

Yet that’s the problem. They want it both ways.

They’ll get their say on what candidates will represent their interest. A handful of judgeships will be on the November ballot, and voters would be wise to figure out which ones best reflect their views of how the legal system, a bedrock of democracy, should work.
