A dispute between Disney and YouTube TV is poised to leave millions of football fans without access to games right in the middle of the season.
As of Friday morning, YouTube TV subscribers lost both ESPN and ABC. Of course, the NFL’s Monday Night Football airs on ESPN every week, while there are dozens of college football games broadcast on both ESPN and ABC over the course of a season.
YouTube TV confirmed the split in a social media post.
“Members, when we renew our contracts with network partners, we advocate for fair pricing to offer you the best TV experience,” YouTube TV wrote. “Our contract with Disney has reached its renewal date, and we’ll not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s TV products.
