SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — As kids are trick-or-treating and lots of people are going out on Halloween night, it's important to keep these safety tips in mind to make sure there aren’t any unexpected tricks.
Suzanne Grace is the executive director of Safe Kids Maine . She says there are a lot of ways that people can do their part to protect everybody outside and on the roads.
Grace encourages parents to remind their kids to stay on the sidewalk, always look both ways before crossing the street, and use crosswalks when possible.
She also said there are some small adjustments that can be made to kids’ costumes to keep them safer.
“Recommending that they wear reflective clothing or carry a glow stick or flashlight, something to make them more visible for those drivers,” Grace said. “Making
