FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – As families across Kentucky celebrate Halloween, state police are reminding everyone to stay safe while out trick-or-treating Friday night.
Kentucky State Police urge drivers to slow down, stay alert, and watch for children crossing the street. Parents are encouraged to make sure kids wear bright or reflective costumes and carry flashlights or glow sticks to remain visible after dark.
Troopers also advise that children only visit homes with porch lights on and never enter a stranger’s home or vehicle.
Homeowners can do their part by clearing walkways and using battery-powered lights instead of candles to reduce fire risks.
KSP says that with a little extra caution and awareness, families can enjoy a safe and fun Halloween night.
