ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — New York Attorney General Letitia James’ Office of Special Investigations (OSI) is issuing a notification regarding the death of Akintunde Campbell following an encounter with the RPD.

Through an investigation, the OSI determined that a prosecutor would not be able to disprove that the officer's use of deadly physical force was not justified under the law. Meaning the officer shooting Campbell was justified based on evidence, under the law.

This incident followed an investigation on July 31 into reports of a man looking into and/or entering cars on Ernestine Street. When the officers arrived at the area, they saw Campbell, who matched the description from the 911 call, standing in a driveway.
