OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Mayor Ewing is set to share an update concerning his plan on encampments on city property on Friday.
Mayor Ewing will be joined by Executive Director Threshold Continuum of Care Jason Feldhaus and Homeless Services Coordinator Tamara Dwyer.
This announcement comes after the Omaha City Council voted down an ordinance that would have made encampments on public property illegal.
In September, Ewing laid out a plan to curb the recurrance of homeless encampments in the city . At that time, he asked the council to give him 30 days to examine the issue and devise a pilot program that brings together all the agencies that help the homeless.
