People going door to door claiming that the West Kelowna Fire Department is endorsing their plan to install gutter guards on eavestroughs are lying.

The fire department and the city have issued no such endorsements, the department said in a news release.

“West Kelowna Fire Rescue has contacted the police regarding the misleading marketing tactics,” the release from deputy chief Chad Gartrell said.
