ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and wide receiver Drake London are set to play in Sunday’s Week 9 matchup against the New England Patriots.
Both players missed the team’s 34-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins, and have been trending upward in practice leading up to this Sunday in Foxborough.
Penix was dealing with a bone bruise in his left knee suffered during the team’s Week 7 game against the San Francisco 49ers, allowing Kirk Cousins to take over behind center against Miami. Cousins completed 21 of 31 passes for 173 yards and a disappointing 33.4 quarterback rating.
Penix has completed 61% of his passes for 1,409 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions thus far in 2025. He’s been the team’s starter since Week 16 of last season.
