SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KETK) -- Austin Luce announced his campaign for Smith County Commissioner on Thursday.

Luce, a commercial property manager and Specialist in the Texas State guard, held a campaign kickoff event on Thursday formally announcing his candidacy.

"Duty First. Texas Always. That’s the motto of the Texas State Guard, and it reflects how I was raised and how I'll raise my children. We all have a duty to serve - to show up, take responsibility, and get things done for our community.
