COLUMBUS, Ohio — Some state workers could face furloughs due to the ongoing federal government shutdown , according to a release from the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.
The department said six agencies notified nearly 9,000 state employees Friday of a possible pause in funding which could lead to future furloughs. However, less than half of those employees would be subject to furlough, the release says.
The agencies include the Ohio Adjutant General’s Department, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
