TOLEDO, Ohio — A man is in critical condition after being shot Friday evening in south Toledo, according to Toledo Police.

Police say the shooting happened near the intersection of Clifton and Redondo drives, where officers found five to eight shell casings at the scene.

Investigators say the victim was being driven from the scene in a private vehicle when police stopped the car on Hill Avenue, not far from where the shooting took place.

The man, believed to be in his late teens, was taken to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his leg. Police said the exact number of times he was shot remains unknown, but the victim is in critical condition.

No suspects have been identified or detained at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
