THE BODY of a woman has been discovered at a home in the Hunter Valley overnight, with homicide squad detectives called in to investigate her suspicious death.

Emergency services were called to reports of a domestic violence incident at a home on Ellalong Street, at Kearsley, just after 7.30pm on Friday, a NSW Police spokesperson said.

Police tragically located the body of a woman inside the home.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, was yet to be formally identified on Saturday morning.

NSW Police confirmed her death was being treated as suspicious.

Hunter Valley police officers established a crime scene at the home, near Cessnock, which was being examined by specialist forensic officers.
