BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Nine Western Kentucky University alumni are being honored for their commitment to excellence and service to the university.
These alumni were recognized during the 2025 Hilltopper Excellence Awards this week.
Among them was Phillip W. Bale, a family physician in Glasgow, and his wife Kristen, who were named honorary alumni for their achievements.
Dr. Regis C. Pearson, recipient of the Young Alumni Achievement Award, is deputy chief of the Injury Prevention Branch, Defense Centers for Public Health in Aberdeen, Maryland.
In addition, Alice Waddell, executive director of the Bowling Green Human Rights Commission, was recognized with the Distinguished Medal of Community and Public Service for her award-winning career, humanitarian efforts and volunteerism.
