With an election on Tuesday, Berrien County Clerk Stacy Loar-Porter has some tips for people looking to have their say.
Loar-Porter tells us it’s still not too late to get an absentee ballot. Although you can technically request one by mail, it’s not going to arrive on time at this point.
“ My suggestion would be if you still need an absentee ballot to go to your local clerk’s office, they can give you one over the counter until Monday at 4 p .m. Most have weekend hours this weekend. They’re either open Saturday or Sunday. Some are open both,” Loar-Porter said.
Note that each voter has to pick up their own absentee ballot. You can’t ask your spouse to pick it up for you.
