NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Daylight saving time will switch back to standard time this weekend, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center is sharing some tips on how to adjust your sleep schedule.

Daylight saving time will end on Sunday at 2 a.m., and the time will go back to 1 a.m.

Sleep specialists said that the time change can affect our rest and internal clock.

“Most people enjoy the extra hour of sleep they get when daylight saving time ends, especially because we tend to delay sleep on weekends and the ability to sleep in on Monday morning benefits us,” Dr. Raghu Upender, medical director of the Vanderbilt Sleep Disorders Center said. “However, because it gets darker sooner in the evening, some people may experience more fatigue on their commute home.”
