BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Three months after North Dakota’s law banning the use of cell phones in schools went into effect, we are seeing the various impacts the law is having on students.
In the last two months, the differences in how schools enforce the new cell phone mandate are becoming apparent.
For example, at Harvey High School, administrators controversially suspended a student when his phone went off in his locker.
The punishment has drawn outrage, and people have expressed concern over how this would affect the student’s academic record and college applications.
The Harvey High School administration wrote to us in an email that it stands by its policy. The school writes that it holds its students to a high standard and was clear about the cell phone policy from the start of the
