Work is proceeding on the Rogers Arena as the foundation work is expected to be completed shortly.

“The foundation work is continuing and is scheduled to be completed hopefully by the end of this month,” said CAO Rob deBortoli at the Oct. 27 regular council meeting. “They seem to be making good progress on it and should be meeting that deadline.”

As well, another part of that project being investigated is the option of replacing the existing asphalt floor that exists around the current rink with a concrete pad as it will provide a more stable and reinforced foundation for the exterior of the rink.
