PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Black Bears survived a rally from Shelby Valley, staving off the Wildcats with a 26-20 win.
Shelby Valley trimmed a 20-7 halftime deficit when Elijah Blackburn scampered to the endzone. The Wildcats got to within six.
Harlan County responded quickly with a touchdown from Brayden Morris, putting the Black Bears up, 26-14.
With the victory, Jacob Saylor’s team carries a three-game win streak into the playoffs.
Harlan County squares off with Wayne County for 7 p.m. kickoff in the first round on Nov. 7.
Shelby Valley hosts Knott Co. Central at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the first round.
