MACEDONIA, Ohio — Nordonia survived a back-and-forth battle with Twinsburg Friday night, securing a 27-24 victory on the strength of Riley Edgehouse’s clutch kicking in the Division II, Region 5 playoff contest.
The seventh-seeded Knights and No. 10 Tigers traded scores throughout the night, with Nordonia taking a game-high 21-10 lead early in the third quarter after Twinsburg failed to convert a fourth down inside their own 40-yard line.
But Twinsburg quarterback Dylan Fantone rallied his team back, eventually tying the game at 24-24 in the fourth quarter.
With the pressure mounting, Edgehouse delivered when it mattered most. After connecting on a 41-yard field goal earlier in the final quarter, he drilled a 30-yarder with less than five minutes to play to put Nordonia ahead 27-24.
