MEDINA, Ohio – For the first time ever, Heritage Ohio awarded a Main Street Manager of the Year during the organization’s annual conference in Canton and Main Street Medina’s own executive director George Sam was the one to receive the honor.

“It was a total surprise to me. I had no idea until the award ceremony,” said Sam who has been part of Main Street Medina since 2018 and became executive director in 2022. “I’m deeply honored, but I think of the managers in the other 40 communities that make up Heritage Ohio and they are all doing such great work and are very special.”

Heritage Ohio annually honors Main Street organizations across Ohio with awards for best projects, places and people who create lasting impacts through historic preservation and community revitalization.
