Mumbai, Nov 1 (UNI) India batter Shreyas Iyer has been discharged from a Sydeney hospital after sustaining a serious abdominal injury during the ODI against Australia on October 25, 2025, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), confirmed in a statement today.

According to the official statement, Shreyas Iyer sustained a blunt injury to his abdomen while fielding during the third ODI against Australia on October 25, resulting in a laceration of his spleen with internal bleeding. The injury was promptly identified, and the bleeding was immediately arrested following a minor procedure.

“He has undergone appropriate medical management for the same,” the BCCI said in its release.
