BUFFALO, N.Y. — A number of Western New York communities announced a delay in winter parking bans that otherwise would have started on Saturday.

The City of North Tonawanda was the first community that chose to postpone the start of its annual overnight parking ban, announcing last weekend that enforcement now set to begin at 3 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1.

Cheektowaga supervisor Brian Nowak recently announced that its winter parking ban has been pushed back to Saturday, Nov. 15.

"It was determined that the Police Department will not enforce the parking ban until the snow season starts," Cheektowaga officials said in a statement. "Warnings may be issued to warn people of the regulations, but no parking tickets will be issued until the snow starts falling with considerable accumulations."
