A 30-year-old man is facing several charges after police say a protester assaulted a person attempting to remove barricades during a demonstration against a defence industry conference at London’s convention centre.
Officers responded around 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 21 to reports of an active protest at RBC Place London, where demonstrators blocked the entrance, barricaded a parking garage with construction materials and threw paint at staff, police said.
Damage to the building was estimated at $32,000, according to police.
A masked man assaulted someone attempting to remove the barricades, police said, adding that they have identified the suspect.
A 30-year-old man from LaSalle is charged by warrant of arrest because he is currently in custody on unrelated matters with another police service
