SPINDALE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Spindale Police Department said that a house party ended in a shooting early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to reported shots fired at a duplex on Oakland Road around 3:57 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, several people were still at the home trying to leave. During this time, several more gunshots were heard, causing officers to take cover.

Police said that more people left in vehicles parked in front of the home while officers took cover and waited for backup. At this time, no evidence indicates that shots were fired at law enforcement.
