INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU) - The Bremen girls soccer team fell short of winning the school’s first ever state title in soccer, falling to Heritage Christian 3-0 in the Class 1A state final on Saturday.
The game was scoreless until Heritage Christian (16-7) broke through in the 39th minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
After the half, Heritage Christian made it 2-0 on a penalty kick in the 57th minute. The Eagles then added their third and final goal four minutes later.
While it wasn’t the storybook ending Bremen was hoping for, the Lions (17-4-1) still had a historic season where they won their first sectional, regional and semi-state titles in program history en route to the state championship berth.
After the match, Bremen’s Isabella Cataline was named the Theresia Wynns Mental Attitude
