Two people have been arrested after a stabbing rampage on a British train triggered panic onboard and left multiple passengers injured as the horrific event unfolded.
Armed police attended Huntingdon station, around 120km north of London, after Cambridgeshire Constabulary were called at 7.39pm on Saturday (6:39am AEDT on Sunday).
More than 30 officers were dispatched to the scene and police said a number of people were taken to hospital.
Witnesses said they saw a man with a large knife and passengers hiding in the toilets to escape the rampage, The Times reported.
There was "blood everywhere" and people were getting "stamped" on by others as they tried to flee the horror, a witness told the paper.
