JASPER COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department released Sunday that one of the missing monkeys was found by a homeowner.
Three monkeys have been missing since October 28 , when a truck hauling several monkeys overturned on I-59 near mile marker 117.
Several agencies, including the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, have been working to find all of the missing monkeys.
A homeowner on Highway 503 near Heidelberg found one of the monkeys on their property this morning.
According to the sheriff’s department, Mississippi Game and Fish responded, and the monkey is now in their possession.
The sheriff’s department reported that no other information is known at this time.
