BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Biloxi’s mayor has called a special workshop meeting with City Council members. It is billed as an opportunity for councilmen to get questions answered. The meeting was set after the council raised issue with two items on the consent agenda.
The first quarrel is centered around the A.J. Holloway Sports Complex. Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich wants to raise the rent and charge an admission fee for use of the baseball and softball fields.
Currently, to rent all five fields, there’s a flat rate of $1,500 per day, along with a $500 deposit.
Mayor Gilich proposed charging $2,000 plus $1.50 per admission for one day, and $3,000 plus $1.00 per admission for two days.
