(WKBN) -- As the days grow shorter and more people are driving in what are becoming later dawns and earlier dusks, law enforcement agencies have been kept busy responding to crashes involving deer.

While you may expect police to get called out for tricks on Halloween, deer walking into roadways and causing accidents was what kept them busy this year.

Mahoning County

The first crash was reported at 1:45 a.m. Friday in Ellsworth Township. Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a call from a driver going eastbound on state Route 224 after they hit a deer that entered the highway. The incident report states the driver of the SUV did not appear to be injured.
