PHILLIPSBURG - The Phillipsburg High School football team scored six touchdowns in the first half when reserves Xavier Campbell-Graham, Sincere Gilmer and Elian Cuevas all scored their first career TDs as P’burg defeated Newark Central, 55-14, in an NJSIAA North 2 Group 4 game on Friday night at Maloney Stadium.

It was the eighth straight quarterfinal victory for Phillipsburg, which has now outscored those eight opponents by a 377-86 margin. That's an average of 47-11 per game. P’burg has scored at least 40 points in all but one of those contests.

The top-seeded Stateliners (8-1) will host No. 5 seed Colonia (7-3), which beat fourth-seeded Ridge 20-19, next week in the sectional semifinals. P’burg has beaten its last three semifinal opponents by an average score of 37-17.
