PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A local paramedic with Advance Medical Transport will soon be recognized by the American Ambulance Association.
Ryan Zavada, a critical care paramedic, has been awarded the 2025 Stars of Life honor, which recognizes exemplary service and heroism in emergency medical services, said Josh Bradshaw, AMT's community resource manager.
Bradshaw said Zavada was recently recognized internally for showing "exemplary compassion" during the transport of a local hospice patient, which drew praise from both the family and hospital administration.
“Ryan exemplifies the values that we hold dear in our mission to deliver outstanding healthcare services - the first and most important being ‘Compassion,’” said Todd Baker, AMT's vice president of business development.
