The State Flying Squad (SFS) has now successfully deployed across Queensland over 75 times since it was introduced in January 2025, with its 75 th and 76 th deployments wrapping up in Cairns and Townsville on 14 October.

The SFS is the largest rapid response unit in Queensland Police’s history and upon completion of its 75 th and 76 th deployments, had charged 585 adults with over 1800 offences, and 1045 young people with over 3000 offences since the Squad was announced in January, while also supporting local officers and other specialist teams in daily operations, protracted and proactive investigations.
