The giant Christmas tree that will light up Chicago's Millennium Park this holiday season has been selected -- and it's one of the "largest" in city history.

Beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, a 68-foot Norway Spruce, hailing from the Mason home in north suburban Glenview, will be carefully cut down and prepared for its journey to Millennium Park. It marks the city's 112th Christmas Tree, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events said.

The tree will be transported via flatbed this week to a landscaping yard before it heads to Chicago. Wednesday morning, it's set to be delivered to Millennium Park where it will be erected with cranes and then lit up for Chicago's annual tree lighting ceremony Nov. 21.
