PLAINFIELD, N.H. — A hunter was found dead in the woods in Plainfield, New Hampshire on Saturday evening after he suffered an apparent medical emergency, according to the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department.
Officials said the hunter went out deer hunting early Saturday and had not returned after dark. Shortly before 7 p.m., officials were notified that he was missing near River Road.
Conservation officers, along with members of the Plainfield Fire Department, Plainfield Police Department, and other hunters in the area, began searching the woods. The hunter was located around 7:45 p.m. and died at the scene, officials said.
Officials said they would not release the man's name until family members can be notified.
