A construction worker suffered serious injuries early Monday in a hit-and-run crash in Foxborough, Massachusetts, police said.

State police responded at 2:15 a.m. north at mile marker 15.5 in Foxborough. The preliminary investigation indicates that

A vehicle struck a construction worker on the northbound side of the highway as he retrieved a sign from the beginning of a detail setup just after 2 a.m., Massachusetts State Police said.

Troopers on scene rendered aid to the victim and applied a tourniquet to his lower leg.
