DETROIT, MI— Fifty-one bands from across Michigan gathered to compete in the marching band state championships at Ford Field on Sunday, Nov. 1.
Competition was fierce as bands gave it their all in front of hundreds of spectators.
Generally 8-12 minutes long, the marching band shows feature choreography, costume changes, large props and, of course, music.
For many performers, this competition marked the finale for their endless hours of time, dedication and practice.
Some of the top bands in Michigan will attend Bands of America Grand Nationals on Nov. 13-15 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
After nearly 15 hours of performances at the state championships Saturday, the winning teams in each flight were crowned. The results of each flight and their final overall score are as follows
