Days after the latest flooding, the City of Annapolis will break ground Monday on a project to control flooding on City Dock.

The $100 million project includes $11.3 million of federal money. The City Dock will be six feet higher and feature a new park. Parking spaces on the dock will also be replaced with a new garage.

“The largest capital improvements in the city’s history, nearly $100 million of upgrades to City Dock and a new parking garage,” Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley said.

Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen and Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman will attend the ground breaking at 12:45 p.m. The project is expected to be completed sometime in 2028.

This report will be updated.
