MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- 51 citations were issued after multiple speeding complaints in Monroe led to a traffic enforcement in the downtown area, according to the Monroe Police Department.
On Friday, Oct. 31, Monroe officers conducted a three-hour patrol of the downtown area after complaints regarding speeding and unsafe driving. Police said, "The purpose of the operation was to increase awareness and visibility in high-traffic areas to promote safe driving behavior."
During the enforcement period, offciers issued a total of 51 citations: • 13 for speeding violations • 4 for operating a vehicle without a valid operator’s license • 3 for driving while license revoked • 4 for vehicle registration violations • 27 for other various traffic offenses
