Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn's remarkable comeback is changing how fellow skiers view their own career longevity.
Vonn came out of a five-year retirement last season. In her 2022 memoir " Rise: My Story ," Vonn detailed the impact years of injuries had on her body. But a partial knee replacement in 2024 changed everything.
Vonn's 2.6 million Instagram followers have tracked her rehab, intense strength workouts and drive to push her body into competition again.
Vonn is 41 years old and competing in a sport where the average female competitor is 26. She credits her mental strength and newly regained physical strength for her incredible comeback last season.
Vonn finished second in the final World Cup race and feels positive about qualifying for the 2026 Olympic Ski Team.
