TEXAS CITY, Texas — Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) has pledged to donate $500k to local food banks impacted by the government shutdown.

The company released a statement Monday, pledging to give that money to local food banks serving communities in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma where BGC operates. The response comes as the Trump administration said SNAP will be partially funded for November, after two judges issued rulings requiring the government to keep the nation’s largest food aid program running.
