(KBTX) - The Texas A&M volleyball team moved to No. 6 in the national rankings after defeating then-second-ranked Texas and No. 16 Tennessee over the weekend.
The ranking marks the highest in program history for the Aggies, who used the impressive weekend as preparation for the new SEC tournament format and the NCAA tournament.
“The thing I was proud of over the weekend was just the way we handled things,” A&M head coach Jamie Morrison said. “And we proved that it doesn’t matter who’s on the other side of the net, where we’re playing, we’re capable of beating anybody in the country. And we’re capable of turning around and, I don’t know, adjusting to a new opponent really, really quickly. So I think it gets us ready for both (the SEC and NCAA tournaments).
